Dear Friends,
As you know, I have decided to return to political life and am running for City Councillor in Ward 12. I would like to represent the residents of Ward 12 with the same vigour and dedication I did for 16 years as their Member of Parliament. My time in Parliament, the 4 years I served as an Alderman in Borough of York and my legal background gives me the experience and understanding to be an effective Councillor
When people ask me why I am going back into politics I tell them that I care deeply about our community and our City and can make a difference at City Hall. Now that my children are young adults, I have the time to devote myself to what I love doing.
The next 4 years will be critical for the future of Toronto. We need a City Council that will work together in the public interest to make Toronto a better City for our children and grandchildren. I can provide leadership to achieve consensus on the major issues City Council will be dealing with.
I would be grateful for your assistance in helping me win this campaign. My Campaign Team is having a fundraiser on Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 at 7 pm at The Longest Yard Restaurant (3313 Bloor St West, east of Islington).
Tickets are $200 each (or four for $750). With each ticket purchased, you will receive a rebate from the City (see attached form for donor rebate information). Because corporations and trade unions are not eligible to contribute, only personal donations can be accepted.
